I'm a senior software engineer at OpenField, based out of Chicago. Before that, I've been a software engineer at Spotify, Civis Analytics, and GrubHub. I enjoy winter and naps.
In my previous career, I was a PhD student in theoretical particle physics at Cornell University's Laboratory for Elementary Particle Physics (LEPP). With my advisor, Maxim Perelstein, I researched collider phenomenology with a focus on developing new tools and techniques in the search for new physics beyond the Standard Model. Before Cornell, I went to Michigan State University for undergrad degrees in physics and mathematics. GO GREEN!

Digression: naming conventions
I often go by "Mike Saelim", but I can often be found as "Michael Saelim" as well. Furthermore, make sure not to confuse me with another "Michael Saelim", who is from Ohio, and often comes up in search results.
